How do you decide whether to clear snow

UK Gritting Services seasonal operators will clear snow from pedestrian areas if they record an average of 2cm or more snow on the ground when at your site. The area will also be gritted upon clearance.

In the case of mechanical snow clearance. the midday weather forecast activates this service. When the forecast is for 5cm or more of snow to fall between midday and 6.00am the following day, the service will be activated. We can offer other activation levels and times if requested, please speak to your account manager who would be happy to let you know what your options are.
